Construction Update: 3018 12th Street NE

Our team has made a lot of progress at 3018 12th Street NE since the last time we updated you! 3018 12th Street NE is a conversion project located in Brookland that will feature three new contemporary units. When this development is complete it will feature three 2BR/ 2BA units. The last time we updated you our team was beginning to install the bathroom wall tile and working to complete the exterior siding. Since then we have installed and grouted all of the bathroom tile, made great progress installing the exterior siding, and have installed almost all of the bathroom vanities. Currently our team is working to install vanities and kitchen cabinets, finish the exterior stairs, installing interior doors and hardware, painting and priming interior walls and getting ready to install the hardwood floor.

In addition to the construction updates, we have come up with a name for the building! 3018 12th Street NE will be named The Hewitt. The Hewitt is named after Edgar Hewitt Nye (1879-1943) who lived on 10th & Taylor in Brookland, and taught art in DC for 58 years.  He taught art in DC for 58 years but was primarily a landscape artist. Some of his work hang in the National Museum of American Art, The Philips Collection, Georgetown University & the Corcoran Gallery, many of which are scenes of DC. Below are some images of the site. Keep checking back for more updates on 3018 12th Street NE!
