The Whitehaven, located at 3918 W St NW, is a conversion project from an existing four-unit building into seven new condos. The building was attractive to us because it’s on a large lot backing up to pristine parklands which is very rare in DC. We enlarged the existing building by finishing the cellar level and adding a new floor with a mansard-style roof. Every unit has windows on three sides to allow for spectacular natural light. At the top of the building, a penthouse unit encompasses the entire floor, with a huge private roof terrace.
